About Michigan Mechanical Systems

Experience. Engineering Knowledge. Mechanical Solutions.

Our Story

From Radiant Heating Specialists to Complete Mechanical System Solutions

The story of Michigan Mechanical Systems is rooted in decades of experience serving the commercial and industrial heating market.

The company built its reputation around infrared radiant heating, developing the product knowledge and application experience needed to solve heating challenges in warehouses, manufacturing plants, service facilities and other demanding commercial and industrial environments.

But buildings—and the mechanical systems that support them—became increasingly complex.

Customers needed more than heating equipment. They needed better ways to introduce outside air, exhaust contaminated air, manage building pressure, improve air circulation, control humidity and integrate multiple pieces of mechanical equipment into a coordinated system.

Over time, the company's capabilities expanded accordingly.

What began with a strong foundation in radiant heating grew into International Radiant & Mechanical Systems, with product offerings that included gas-fired and electric infrared heating, make-up air systems, fans and ventilation equipment, gas detection and vehicle exhaust removal systems.

Today, that evolution is reflected in the name Michigan Mechanical Systems and in a much broader approach to commercial and industrial HVAC.

Serving Commercial & Industrial Markets

Experience Across a Wide Range of Facilities

Michigan Mechanical Systems works with mechanical contractors, engineers, facility managers, building owners and other professionals responsible for creating and maintaining effective commercial and industrial environments.

Our equipment and system solutions can be applied across a diverse range of facilities, including manufacturing plants, warehouses and distribution centers, municipal and public works facilities, automotive and fleet service operations, schools and institutional buildings, commercial facilities, maintenance garages and other specialized industrial applications.

That market experience matters because the mechanical requirements of a warehouse can be very different from those of a manufacturing operation, vehicle maintenance facility or institutional building.

Built on Product & Application Knowledge

Decades of Experience Applied to Today's Mechanical Challenges

Products and technologies have changed considerably over the years, but the fundamentals behind the company have remained consistent: understand the application, know the equipment and support the customer throughout the project.

That philosophy is reflected in the company's longstanding mission of providing expert engineering and product knowledge, quality products, professional customer service, detailed project follow-through and timely delivery.

Today, Michigan Mechanical Systems combines that experience with a broad portfolio of commercial and industrial technologies—from infrared heating and unit heaters to make-up air, ventilation, custom air handling, HVLS fans, gas detection, vehicle exhaust, energy recovery and dehumidification systems.

Have a heating, ventilation or air-management challenge?

Michigan Mechanical Systems can help you evaluate the application, understand your options and identify the right equipment and system approach for your facility.

Let’s start with your requirements and build the solution from there.

From Radiant Heating Specialists to Complete Mechanical System Solutions

Michigan Mechanical Systems grew from decades of experience solving commercial and industrial heating challenges. As our customers' facilities and mechanical requirements became more complex, our capabilities expanded beyond radiant heating into ventilation, air movement, air handling, humidity control, gas detection, and specialized exhaust systems.

Experience That Goes Beyond the Equipment

Understanding How the Pieces Work Together

One of the things that sets Michigan Mechanical Systems apart is the breadth of experience behind the products we represent.

We don't look at a heater simply as a heater, an exhaust fan simply as a fan or an air handler as an isolated piece of equipment.

We look at how the entire mechanical system needs to perform.

An exhaust system may require properly sized make-up air. A high-bay heating system may benefit from improved air circulation. Gas detection may need to activate ventilation equipment. Humidity control can affect air-handling requirements. Energy recovery may provide an opportunity to capture energy from air that would otherwise be exhausted from the building.

Understanding those relationships allows Michigan Mechanical Systems to help customers move beyond individual equipment selections and toward a more coordinated mechanical solution.

Moving Forward as Michigan Mechanical Systems

A New Name That Better Represents What We Do

The transition to Michigan Mechanical Systems reflects what the company has become.

Radiant heating remains an important part of our expertise, but today's capabilities extend across a much wider range of commercial and industrial mechanical systems.

The new name better represents our ability to support customers with heating, ventilation, air movement, air quality, humidity control and specialized mechanical-system solutions—while maintaining the product knowledge, service and project support on which the company built its reputation.

Our experience is established. Our capabilities continue to grow. And our focus remains the same: helping customers find the right mechanical solution for the application.
